Facility

Morningside Training Farm boasts a full complement of training resources for a variety of disciplines.

Outdoor Dressage Ring

Outdoor Dressage Ring

Two regulation dressage arenas featuring the latest Atwood GGT footing. This premier, dust-free footing creates the perfect surface for schooling on the flat. Morningside Training Farm keeps one ring set at regulation size (20×60) and one set as a small ring (20×40) to allow schooling of both upper and lower level event tests, as well as dressage clients.

Outdoor Jump Ring

Outdoor Jump Ring

The 190 x 250 outdoor ring features Pinnacle footing developed by Attwood Equestrian Surfaces and debuted at the World Equestrian Games, provides the ultimate riding surface for all disciplines. Morningside Training Farm has a full set of jumper and show hunter jumps for use by both tenants and ship-in clients. Cavaletti built by David Hildebrand are also available for training in the outdoor. Jumps include gates, planks, roll top, liverpool, coop, skinny, 12 and 24 walls, a corner, and many colorful new flower boxes.

Indoor Arena

Indoor Arena

The 70 x 145 indoor arena is dust-free due to Atwood GGT footing. A recent renovation included a new lighting system, mirrors, and a sound system. MTF maintains a course of jumps in the ring all year. The course changes at least every 2 weeks. Ship-in customers are permitted to adjust the jumps as they need but are asked to please put return them to their original places before leaving.

Cross Country

Cross Country

MTF has two areas for cross country schooling, the XC hill and the XC infield (inside the training track). Eric Bull of ETB Equine Construction has built all of our portables, water complex, ditches and drops to the highest quality. Olympian and licensed course designer Nina Fout has worked closely with Eric on the design of all jumps and the water complex.

The XC hill boasts over 25 portable jumps ranging in size from 2′ 6″ to 3′ 3″, a skinny wedge, three drops, two ditches, two flights of national size safety fence hurdles (4’3″), and a water complex (120′ x 140′) with both riveted walls (drops) and soft edges. The water complex offers endless training possibilities, from basic introduction to water to preliminary steps!

The XC infield offers over 10 portable jumps ranging in size from 2′ 3″ to 3′, a lake to swim with your horse, and a 9″ deep ‘splash’ to trot or gallop your horse through. The outdoor training ring is situated in the infield and can be jumped into or out of as part of the XC course.
